My walking attire. It is more than just a hat and sunglasses...

What are some of your favorite things lately?  For me it is going on our daily morning family walks.  We try to head out as soon as breakfast is done, that way we avoid the heat of mid-day and child meltdown. With my background working for a dermatologist, I have seen what sun exposure can do to the skin and because I am super conscious of my neck (sun damage, redness and bumps), I have a walking attire that turns heads. Haha

  1. Rollable wide brim hat.*  Perfect for the mom bun and wide enough to protect my face and sometimes my neck and chest.

  2. Sun scarf*-  This is a garment with a weave that is thick enough that only minimal amounts of sun can get through.  With the pandemic it looks like I am ready to walk into a store and use it as a face covering. Double win.  It is also a childs’ size (perks of being petite)

  3. UV protection arm sleeves*- These are my favorite.  I was starting to notice some spots on my hands and arms but since wearing these, those have faded.  I usually wear the nude or black and keep the white pair in my car.  Yes I am one of those ladies.. Move over driving gloves. Arm sleeves are where it is at.

  4. Sunglasses- Not only do they protect your eyes from harmful rays, I can also go without wearing make-up with the huge lenses.  Sunglasses will help you avoid squinting, and in turn less fine lines around your eyes.

  5. Water- Of course this isn’t attire but always a good habit to have is to take water with you wherever you go.  It is great for your skin, muscles, digestion.. I could go on and on.  I have a huge 40oz container and my goal is to drink through it at least 2x a day.

With this whole ensemble,  I do get stares and double takes but I am all about getting my exercise in AND protecting my skin.  I am able to still get my daily vitamin D with my limited sun exposure on my body and I do supplement.
